Our Business
IKI Records (the name draws on the Japanese aesthetic concept 粋 — refinement, authenticity, understated elegance) is an artist-first label. We currently develop a focused roster, releasing music globally via our distribution partners and promoting each release across YouTube, streaming platforms, social media, and editorial press.
The label is operated by a small in-house team that handles A&R, release strategy, advertising, and analytics. To coordinate this work across multiple platforms, we built an internal management system at platform.iki-records.com that consolidates distribution, social publishing, CRM, analytics, and advertising for our roster.
Google Ads API — Use Case
We use the Google Ads API exclusively to manage our own MCC (manager account 846-840-1454) and its sub-accounts, which run YouTube and Search campaigns to promote our own artists' music releases.
The API is consumed by our internal platform only — there is no third-party access, no resale, no SaaS offering, and no agency-model client management. The Google Ads API is one of several integrations alongside Meta Ads, Spotify, YouTube Analytics, Deezer, and GA4 that feed our internal multi-platform analytics dashboard.
Operations Performed via the API
- Read campaign performance. Sync impressions, views, CPV, conversions, and cost into our internal analytics dashboard, alongside data from Meta Ads, Spotify, YouTube Analytics, GA4, and Deezer. Enables correlation between ad spend and streaming growth per artist.
- Create YouTube video campaigns. From our platform: campaign budget, ad group, geo and language targeting, age exclusion, video asset attachment from the artist's linked YouTube channel, CTA. Campaigns are created in
PAUSEDstatus by default for manual review before launch. - Standard lifecycle management. Pause, activate, update budgets, and remove campaigns we created. No bulk operations on third-party accounts.
Scope & Volume
- Internal use only. No customer-facing product, no SaaS, no agency clients. The platform serves IKI Records' own label operations.
- Low volume. An estimated 5 to 15 campaigns per month across all signed artists during this phase. Well within the Explorer access tier limits.
- No PII processing. We handle campaign-level performance data and our own YouTube video assets only. No end-user data, no remarketing lists built from external sources, no customer match uploads.
- Human-initiated. Every campaign creation, modification, and budget change is initiated by a member of the label from our internal dashboard. No autonomous agents act on the Google Ads API at this stage.
Why Not the Google Ads UI Directly
Each release cycle requires coordinated rollout across YouTube Ads, Meta Ads, streaming pitches, DSP submissions, and press CRM. Centralizing this work in one internal platform eliminates context switching, enforces consistent UTM tagging and daily budget caps across artists, and allows the small team to A/B test creative angles per artist faster than manual Ads Manager work.
Compliance
- All campaigns respect the Google Ads music advertising policy (audio licensing, copyright clearance for promoted assets).
- Daily budget caps are enforced at the application layer (a hard
€5/daycap in development environments, explicit caps in production). - No automated rule writing. All campaign creation and modification originates from a human action in the internal dashboard.
- OAuth refresh tokens are stored in Google Cloud Secret Manager. Access is limited to the small operations team via Google Workspace SSO.
